Everything below lives only in this app's private SwiftData store on your iPhone. None of it is sent to us, and ShiftSlip has no account, sign-in or server that could receive it.
None of this is sent to ShiftSlip's developer, to Google, or to any other party. The daily tip record, CSV export and PDF export are built entirely on the device from data already stored there.
ShiftSlip keeps the daily tip record IRS Publication 531 tells tipped employees to keep, and does arithmetic on the numbers you enter — effective hourly pay, tips per hour, pay-period totals, and similar figures. It does not calculate tax, a deduction, a refund or an eligibility determination, and it is not a substitute for advice from a tax professional. The optional minimum-wage check in Reports shows only your own hours, pay and average hourly rate against a figure you type in yourself; it names no state, cites no law, and makes no legal claim.
Settings and the Daily Tip Record screen let you export any date range as a CSV file or a printable PDF through the system share sheet, free forever and behind no purchase. You can remove the sample data offered on first run, or permanently delete every job and shift on the device (typing DELETE to confirm). Uninstalling ShiftSlip removes all of its data.
ShiftSlip is free and supported by advertising served through Google's AdMob SDK. An anchored banner appears only on the Dashboard, Shift History, Reports and Jobs screens, and at most one full-screen ad can appear on the shift summary, and only after that shift has already been saved to the device. No ad of any kind appears while you are logging a shift, splitting a tip-out, reading the daily tip record, exporting, checking the minimum-wage figure, in Settings, or during First Run.
To request permission for cross-app tracking, ShiftSlip shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt once, immediately after you save your first shift — never at launch and never during onboarding. If you decline, or on any iPhone where Limit Ad Tracking is otherwise in effect, AdMob serves non-personalised ads instead; every feature of the app keeps working exactly the same way. When tracking is authorised, the AdMob SDK reads the device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and reports ad impressions, clicks and the placement they occurred in to Google, so that future ads can be more relevant. ShiftSlip itself does not read the IDFA and never sends your jobs, shifts, tips, tip-outs or earnings to Google or to any other third party.
A one-time Remove Ads purchase, processed by Apple through StoreKit, permanently turns off every ad. It unlocks no feature and hides no content — the tip-out engine, the daily tip record, reports and export are free with or without it. ShiftSlip receives only the entitlement that the purchase happened; it does not receive or store any payment or billing information, which is handled entirely by Apple.

An optional closeout photo is chosen through the system's PhotosPicker, which never grants ShiftSlip access to your photo library as a whole; it only receives the single image you pick, and that image never leaves the device.
ShiftSlip is a general-purpose income-tracking tool for tipped and commission workers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and ShiftSlip itself collects no personal information on any server in any case.
If what ShiftSlip collects or does changes, this page and the "Last updated" date above will be updated before that version is made available.
